A drive towards sustainability: Upgrading the car fleet of Alchin Long Group
February 18, 2016News
As part of the Alchin Long Group’s (ALG) drive towards long term sustainability, over the next 12 months the company will be replacing our fleet of large diesel powered utility vehicles with more efficient and eco-friendly Toyota Camry Hybrids.
With over 25 diesel powered utility vehicles and cars scattered across our Australian sales branches; upgrading to a fleet of Toyota Camry Hybrid models will mean a substantial reduction in ALG’s annual carbon emissions.
Due to their great fuel efficiency and ever-improving performance, hybrid models have experienced a surge in popularity over the past few years. By combining a conventional petrol engine with an electric motor and battery pack, hybrid technology results in a much more sustainable energy source.
Hybrid cars are also much cleaner, thanks to less CO2 emissions and requiring less fossil fuel to run them. The hybrid engine combines the benefits of both worlds – the powerful performance of conventional engines with the high fuel efficiency and low emissions.
ALG’s goal has always been to foster a company culture based around sustainability and by investing in cleaner, greener vehicles, we are taking the next step in leading the way for our staff members and customers alike.
By taking the step in moving to hybrid models, we hope to set an example for the rest of the people in the company who are becoming more environmentally conscious and want to reduce their impact on the environment.
As a family owned business dating back to 1947, ALG is determined to ensure we create a sustainable culture for future generations of innovators across our group of businesses. Whether it is through our industrial design, manufacturing, cutting-edge testing or service and maintenance areas, we are striving to maintain our sustainability practices for the future.
